Actuate founded and co-leads the Eclipse BIRT open source project. BIRT is the premier development environment for presenting data from disparate data sources in compelling visualizations to users. ActuateOne is the commercial suite of BIRT products that add interactivity, dashboards, analytics and deployment options for web and mobile BIRT applications.
ActuateOne
ActuateOne is the value-added BIRT product suite that builds on open source BIRT and enables developers to rapidly develop and deploy custom BI Applications and Information Applications that leverage BIRT. Applications built with ActuateOne provide users with one user experience regardless of task, tool or skill level; are supported by one server with a set of services to support any deployment, including cloud, and are built with one design using BIRT.
The ActuateOne User Experience
ActuateOne transforms static BIRT reports into interactive, analytical and scaleable content simply by publishing this content to the BIRT iServer. Immediately available are the following user-experience features (license required): BIRT 360, a portal-based dashboard solution; Interactive Viewer, an end-user option; BIRT Analytics, for in-memory analytics; and BIRT Studio for ad-hoc reporting by business users.
The ActuateOne Server
BIRT iServer embeds the Eclipse BIRT engine and provides additional services for your project, application or enterprise. These services include; content scheduling and distribution, document management, usage logging, alerts and subscriptions, security, high availability, multi-tenant, performance tuning, elastic clustering, intelligent in-memory data caching, and an optional meta data layer
The ActuateOne Design
Actuate products are compatible with content developed in Eclipse BIRT, whose web design metaphor, reusable component architecture and community support have made it the popular choice for even novice developers. Actuate BIRT Designer Pro shares all the features of the Eclipse BIRT designer, and adds Flash® objects, HTML5 chart output, commercial data drivers, a metadata layer, impact analysis and cube design perspectives and commercial report viewing capabilities. BIRT Designer Pro is the backbone of the singular design environment of ActuateOne and can be used individually, or in conjunction with the Actuate iServer.
