Eclipse and Actuate BIRT Products 
The BIRT (Business Intelligence Reporting Tools) product line is used by Java, Eclipse and PHP developers to integrate data visualizations and reports into applications and by report developers to create rich, interactive web reports for end users. The product line consists of visual designers that are used to define data access and layouts for reports and visualizations, deployment options to execute, generate and manage BIRT reports, and viewers through which end users interact with web pages and reports.
BIRT Designers
BIRT Designers are for developers of varying skills and needs who want to provide highly graphical reports and data visualizations to meet the diverse and ever-changing needs of end users. There are five designers, each intended for a different developer audience, a report creation and modification tool for business users and a visual development tool to create meta-data layers that can be accessed by BIRT reports.
BIRT Deployment Options
There are multiple architectural options to execute, generate and manage BIRT reports on an ongoing basis. These options include components that can be deployed in Web applications, stand alone end user reporting portals and stand alone report servers that help schedule, manage, secure and distribute BIRT reports.
BIRT Viewers
There are three BIRT Viewers for viewing, navigating and interacting with large HTML BIRT reports. Each has its own purpose with increasing levels of functionality that help optimize the end user viewing experience.
