BIRT iServer Enterprise
BIRT iServer Enterprise includes all the features of BIRT iServer Express, with additional BIRT performance facilities for high availability and scalability to meet the needs of large numbers of concurrent BIRT users in a mission critical application environment.
BIRT iServer Enterprise is in use at 1,000's of Global 9000 companies. It scales to 100,000's of users and can support multiple applications and departments concurrently. It is particularly successful at securely delivering reports outside the firewall to customers, partners and consumers while providing high BIRT performance. Automatic clustering, job control and load balancingOut-of-the-box, BIRT iServer Enterprise can run across a cluster of machines, using job control and automatic load balancing to provide performance and distribute the work evenly across clustered systems. To increase the number of transactions BIRT iServer Enterprise can handle, administrators can add more machines to the cluster; when this is done, Actuate scales almost linearly, making use of the full processing power of every machine online. Actuate also reduces the query load on transactional systems, improving their performance.
Multiple failover modes
BIRT iServer Enterprise clusters can be configured without a single point of failure, and can deliver high availability by replicating stateless services on multiple machines, or by automatic failover and recovery of stateful services such as the Actuate encyclopedia management service. The server supports active failover as well as active-passive configurations, ensuring maximum reporting application availability and performance.
Support for high-end SMP hardware
BIRT iServer Enterprise operates on both NT, Linux and popular UNIX platforms, offering linear scalability that leverages the powerful processing power available on these SMP machines.
Multi-project support
