Self-serve Report Scheduling
BIRT iServer Express provides end users with self-serve BIRT report scheduling without training.
- Scheduled Reports - users schedule reports based on data and time with one or two clicks.
- On-demand Reports - users generate reports on demand with one or two clicks.
Report Parameterization
With BIRT iServer Express users can generate BIRT reports based on parameterized selection criteria and store their selection for future report runs.
- Data selection - users specify any level or range of data to be included in a report.
- Report Structure selection - users determine if report data is to be displayed in a chart, matrix, or a variety of other formats.
- Automatic Parameter Page generation - users are prompted to specify appropriate parameters if desired, based on the report they select.
Report Delivery and Notifications
BIRT iServer Express provides a variety of ways to distribute and notify users about the availability of BIRT reports.
- Email Notification - users can be emailed when a report is ready to be viewed.
- Email Delivery - reports can be emailed to users as attachments.
- Conditional Notification - users can be notified when specific conditions are met, such as report run success or failure.
- File Format Selection - users can specify report format to be delivered such as HTML, PDF, and Excel.
- Subscriptions - users can automatically receive groups of reports in which they are interested, such as those pertaining to a particular department, geography, function, or kind of data.
Event, Business Rule and Group Scheduling
- BIRT iServer Express administrators can support complex scheduling needs with sophisticated BIRT report scheduling features.
- Event Based Scheduling - reports can be run based on events, such as those occurring within the report server or in external applications.
- Business Rules Scheduling - reports can be run based on business rules, such as when a combination of data thresholds is met or when a specific period ends.
- Subscriptions - reports of common types can be grouped into channels so that users can request to be notified or automatically receive reports belonging to that group when available.
