BIRT Designer Pro includes hundreds of Flash® objects which can add animation, interactivity and improved visualization to BIRT reports. The same effects can also be provided through JavaScript on charts that offer HTML5 output.

HTML5 Chart Rendering
HTML5 provides developers with a flexible, standards-based means with which to create animations and user functionality through JavaScript that can be viewed on any mobile device, making cross-platform deployments easy.

HTML button Support
BIRT Designer Professional provides the ability to add HTML buttons to BIRT reports. The HTML buttons, together with associated event handlers, can be used to add additional functionality to BIRT content using client-side JavaScript.

Flash Objects Support: Out-of-the-Box
BIRT Designers support incorporating Flash objects in BIRT reports. They include the ability to integrate and pass report data to Flash objects allowing developers to use flash objects within the BIRT Designer itself. Any flash object can be incorporated into BIRT.

Flash Object Library
BIRT Designers include a library of hundreds of Flash Objects of maps, charts and gadgets which can be embedded in the report designs.

• Flash charts for interactive and customizable charts in reports – twenty-two interactive charts that help create advanced simulations, what-if analysis charts, and stock charts which can be added to the standard charting library consisting of nearly fifty chart types.
• Flash gadgets – twenty-one visualizations including real-time gauges, meters, Gantt charts, funnel/ pyramid charts, spark line charts, and bullet graphs especially useful for dashboards and “what-if” analysis
• FlashMaps – Nearly five hundred data-driven interactive Flash maps to show business information distributed across geographies such as countries, regions, states, or counties.

HTML button Support
BIRT Designer Professional provides the ability to add HTML buttons to BIRT reports. The HTML buttons, together with associated event handlers, can be used to add additional interactivity to reports using client-side JavaScript that taps into report data.

Auto-Suggest Parameter Support
Auto-suggest parameter support enables users to quickly lookup report input parameter values without having to navigate through the entire list. The feature is also capable of handling large lists without incurring any performance degradation typically associated with large datasets.
