Actuate BIRT Report Studio
Actuate BIRT Report Studio is a web-based report development tool for business users to create BIRT reports using the reusable report components created by any of BIRT Report Designers. It is an AJAX-based tool accessed from a web browser with no client software to install for end users to create charts and graphs; add, rearrange, reformat, show and hide data; and change report, row, column and cell formatting to create their own BIRT report.
Features Overview
Actuate BIRT Report Studio can be deployed in three ways:
- As a Java component in an application server to provide users web based report writing.
- As an end user report writing portal, where users browse, create and save reports via the BIRT Deployment Kit.
- With an iServer report server, so that users can access data through a metadata layer and schedule the reports they create.
Re-usable Templates and Themes
Uses reusable BIRT Report components that are provided out-of-the box, or that developers create for them, that define report layout, structure, look, and available data.
Self-service Report Creation
Users can add columns, calculations, aggregations, conditional formats, filters, parameters, charts, tables or pre-built report objects; sort, group and organize data; and format columns, fonts and values.
Query and Analysis
Serves as query and analysis tool for the business users of BIRT reports: they can select data; apply calculations and aggregations; and control how data is displayed, filtered, and sorted.
