Analytics
This new, in-memory online analytical processing (OLAP) analytics product line is the result of enhancements to the core BIRT engine, which supports the entire spectrum of rich data visualizations, interactivity and analysis. The BIRT technology architecture provides multiple ways to embed and contextually deliver information to users to address their analytics needs while promoting efficiency and productivity through reuse.
BIRT analytics are implemented as a viewing service of the BIRT iServer. For BIRT ISV’s and SaaS vendors wishing to include BIRT analytics in their product, they can be embedded as a component or with the BIRT Deployment Kit.
BIRT analytics is comprised of BIRT Data Objects and BIRT Data Analyzer, for complete, in-memory online analytical processing (OLAP).
BIRT Data Objects
A BIRT Data Object is a data store where data is sourced from multiple and disparate data sources. Once sourced, the data can be modeled as one or more flat or multi-dimensional structures thus forming the basis for wide range of ad hoc queries and analytic questions.
BIRT Data Analyzer
BIRT Data Analyzer is a zero footprint, browser-based OLAP tool created for business users. The product’s highly intuitive analysis interface makes it possible for organizations to deploy analysis capability to users at all levels in the organization. BIRT Data Analyzer works within the BIRT Interactive Viewer or BIRT 360 dashboards or embedded in web pages.
