BIRT Interactive Viewer
BIRT Interactive Viewer is an end user tool to interactively analyze and modify BIRT content and reports on the web, relieving BIRT developers from having to create every iteration themselves. With BIRT Interactive Viewer users can change BIRT web output formatting; hide, add or move data; create charts, sort data and apply functions to data. The BIRT Interactive Viewer supports all the features of the Eclipse BIRT Sample Viewer and BIRT Viewer, is compatible with reports developed with Eclipse BIRT and can view BIRT Data Objects with BIRT Data Analyzer. BIRT Interactive Viewer presents users with an intuitive, AJAX-based UI with no plug-ins or software to install.
In addition to supporting Flash objects with client-side JavaScript to make the reports interactive, it also has a JavaScript API to integrate application content from the server.
BIRT Interactive Viewer is implemented as a viewing service of the BIRT iServer. For BIRT ISV’s and SaaS vendors wishing to include BIRT Interactive Viewer in their product, it can be embedded as a component or with the BIRT Deployment Kit.
Features Overview
Report Formatting
BIRT Interactive Viewer lets users change the look of a report to meet their individual preferences and needs. They can define headers, labels and page breaks; change data alignment, font or case; change which data is displayed; and apply conditional logic to their formatting choices.
Interactive Report Analysis
With BIRT Interactive Viewer, end users can drag and drop the data on the report to support their analysis needs. It supports panning and scrolling, data sorting, grouping, ranking, hiding 
and applying a variety of mathematical functions to report data and manipulate BIRT Data Objects with BIRT Data Analyzer. Actuate BIRT now supports additional Interactive Viewer features on mobile devices, with browser access from any mobile device.
Charting
End users can modify the graphical display of report data in a variety of ways with BIRT Interactive Viewer. They can filter data, change chart orientation and size, and specify that charts stack, overlay or display side by side. Actuate BIRT now supports HTML5 animations, graphics and chart output, making content available to any user on any mobile device.
