Excellent Eclipse Developer's Journal introduction to deploying BIRT reports in an application.

This Eclipse Developer's Journal article is an excerpt from the book Integrating and Extending BIRT and describes how to develop a customized report generation application that performs the following tasks:

• Creates and configures a report engine
• Opens a report design or report document
• Accesses data from a data source
• Generates a report in a supported output format
• Shuts down the engine

The article was written by Jason Weathersby; Tom Bondur; Jane Tatchell -- part of the author team for the Integrating and Extending BIRT book.
