Greeting,
I have some reports created in BIRT 2.3.1. But they didn't work with my report viewer. I got an error message "+ There is no report design object available." when I load the new report. Is there anyway to downgrade my BIRT reports from 2.3.1 to 2.3.0? Thanks in advance. Mark Last edited by mrong : 11-18-2008 at 06:36 AM. |

Hi Mark,
You can go into the XML Source for the report and change the version information to match 2.3.0's version information and save the report. This should allow you to open it in 2.3.0.

Mark,
When you installed BIRT 2.3.1, did you install the all-in-one package? If so, you should be able to just go delete the file wherever you extracted it. Though, it isn't necessary to delete 2.3.1 to also have 2.3.0.

Mark,
Reports made in newer versions of BIRT don't work in older versions. So, the viewer that came with the other program is probably the 2.3.0 viewer. That's the only reason I can think of that the 2.3.1 reports wouldn't work.

Just change the version number in the source file, works for me
![]() It's the second line: <report xmlns="http://www.eclipse.org/birt/2005/design" version="3.2.15" id="1"> 3.2.15 is 2.2.1 I think. 3.2.16 is 2.3.0 and 3.2.17 is 2.3.1 if I remember correctly |
