Default e.Spreadsheet 11: What do you want?

Release 10 is about here and that means it's time to get serious about what's going to be in Release 11. Let us know what you think! Post your suggestions here where everyone can have a opportunity to voice their opinion.

A few thoughts...

* No idea to small, we want to hear everything and anything
* General feedback is welcome. Simply knowing that you care more about Excel features over Designer features helps us.
* When you make your suggestion let us know how you are using the product. Who uses your reports? How many reports designs do you have? What skills do your report developer have?

Everyone on the e.Spreadsheet team will be reading this thread, it's a great way to influence this next release of the product.

Sincerely,

Brian Killen

Default XML datasource ?

Hi

What about XML as DataSource to e.spreadsheet ?

It could easy deliver dynamic report, basead on user inputs and current database.

Perhaps it could support serialized Java XML objects...

POJO (Java Beans) -> XML -> SpreadSheet

Alessandro,

there is a new XML data source in Release 10, which should be shipping any day now.

Default Cell Comments and Data Validation (LIST)

Hello,

This is Fumitoshi Takeno with XLsoft Corporation.
We are a distributor in Japan for Actuate products.

We have been selling e.Spreadsheet products more than 8 years.
We have heard a lot of requests for followings.

- Form Objects
- AutoShapes (other than line, Rectangle, Oval, and TextBox)
- Cell Comments
- Data Validation (especially settings to allow "List")

We hope those will be supported in the future release.

Best Regards,
Fumitoshi
