For BIRT report users, the Deployment Kit lays the foundation to leverage the web-based Ad-Hoc and Interactive Reporting BIRT products that allow end users to modify existing reports and create their own reports from within a browser.
The Deployment Kit creates a file and folder system to store reports, provides a customizable web user interface to find and run them on-demand, and secures reports with out-of the-box user administration features or through integration with external security systems. A Progressive Viewing feature speeds the display of BIRT reports for end users.
The Deployment Kit automatically generates input pages to prompt end users to specify parameters for report runs, including dynamically cascading parameters. End users can specify in which language they wish to view the user interface and reports.
The Deployment Kit offers two deployment options; stand-alone or embedded in another application.
