iServer Express provides utilities to configure, manage and control the product and report repository to assure quality operations. Administrators can use a web-based administrative interface, command line utilities or the complete web services API to monitor the system, recover the system and manage the reports in the repository.

System Monitoring

iServer Express provides monitoring functions for administrators to ensure that the reporting environment is operating properly and that the report server is being used appropriately.

• Report Run Management - lists job schedules and status, with the ability to cancel jobs to manage load.
• Usage Reporting - tracks report usage for analysis; for example, to see if users are using their reports or to determine peak usage times to manage performance.
• System Monitoring - provides system and error logging, auditing and diagnosis to ensure proper operations.

Availability and Recovery

iServer Express maximizes system uptime and keeps important reports and data safe.

• Online backup and restore - backs up and restores the iServer Express data and report repository without taking the system off-line.
• Export and import - exports reports to other systems and imports reports from files; for example, an XML file.

Report Management

iServer Express contains report management features to manage multiple reports, multiple versions of reports and to support multiple report developers.

• Versioning and Archiving - archives and versions reports for safe keeping and data integrity.
• Template Management - stores and publishes the report design templates created for others; for example, senior developers can create templates for use by other developers or to establish corporate standards for reports.
