Report Storage

The Deployment Kit creates and administers a file and folder system that stores reports for easy management and access.

• Repository - creates a file and folder system to store and easily access reports.
• Administration - manages the files, folders, and user access.

Report Viewing

The Deployment Kit provides out-of the box functionality for end users to browse and select reports in the repository and to view multiple page BIRT reports more efficiently.

• Web User Interface - generates web pages automatically from which end users can find and run reports so developers do not have to create a unique URL for each report.
• Customizable User Interface - inherits the look and feel of other applications or standards through editable JSP pages.
• Progressive Report Viewing - delivers each page of a BIRT report to the end user for viewing as it is rendered minimizing user-wait time as other pages are rendered.

Basic Report Security

The Deployment Kit provides basic stand-alone report security or can be extended for custom security solutions.

• Basic Out-of-the-Box Security - includes user addition and deletion, login screens with passwords, user home folder to keep reports private, and public folders to share reports when embedded with application server.
• Custom Security - provides a security adapter to leverage security from an external application.
