Actuate iPortal makes extensive use of browser pop-up windows to display reports, display dialogs for requesting reports, etc. However, many browsers block pop-ups because of their notorious association with ads. This article explains how to enable pop-ups, for iPortal only, for two common browsers: Internet Explorer 7 and Firefox 2.
Further, if you use the e.Spreadsheet product in Internet Explorer, you must grant the correct security permissions so that IE can open an Excel spreadsheet.

If your browser blocks iPortal pop-ups, you will see an error dialog like this:
This may not happen all the time. For example, your browser might allow the Report Viewer to open when you run and view a report from a link in a folder listing, but not when you request to run a report and save the output. In any case, if you see this dialog, you must enable pop-ups for iPortal to proceed.
Although the dialog suggests you can avoid the issue by holding down the "Ctrl" key while clicking, this trick does not work when clicking on a button. Instead, you'll need to enable pop-ups for iPortal.
If you try to view an e.SpreadSheet report, but nothing happens, then IE is probably preventing iServer Express from launching Excel.
