What's on BIRT Exchange?

  • Forums - The forums are divided into separate task areas so if you are designing reports, interacting with them, or deploying them, you can create or join a discussion topic that will be relevant to you. There are also some general forums for announcements, site feedback, or just playing around.
  • Blog - This is the voice of the site and will have announcements, quick tips, or maybe something cool we just learned about.
  • Documentation - Up-to-date product documentation.
  • Wiki - You are in the wiki now. We keep the FAQ and other documents that might require frequent changes or community input here.
  • Downloads - Software packages that are available for download.
  • DevShare - The repository of user contributed content. This includes things like report designs, templates, libraries, or even quick tips and technical articles.
  • Demos - See the latest tools in action. This is a collection of videos that can provide a nice technical overview of a product or individual feature.
  • Products - Helpful information, including key features and system requirements for BIRT and related products.

How can I contribute?

You first need to register for the site. Once you do this, you can ask and answer questions in the forums, make comments on the site, make modifications to this wiki or upload a helpful example into the DevShare.

How do I ask a question in the Forums?

In order to ask questions in the forums, you must be registered for BIRT Exchange and logged in. There are several forums broken up by topic. Choose a topic that best fits your question and enter that forum. Once inside the forum, you will see other questions and answer threads that have been asked previously. To add your own question, press the 'New Thread' button and follow the on screen instructions.
